Lia takes the 2023 GB Down Syndrome Championships by storm
One of our very own home grown talents, Lia seen pictured below, competed in the 2023 GB Down Syndrome Championships at the K2 in Crawley on 18th and 19th November, and took everyone by surprise.
In her first ever competition, she was the fastest in the 10-16 age 25m Freestyle group and picked up 4 medals.
Won:
in 25m Butterfly
in 25m Backstroke
in 50m Freestyle
in 25m Breaststroke
Lia has been such an inspiration to each and every one of us coaches at Aquademy Sports, right back to the days when we started the founding swim school Aquademy Swimming many years ago, her family have always been a beaming light of positivity and hope.
Next step……..who knows? But what we do know is that we are immensely proud of you Lia, and I’m sure your fellow swimmers will join us all at Aquademy Sports in celebrating this huge triumph.
Aquademy Girls make selection for U14 Inter Regionals 2023
Imari and Harriet started their polo journey with Aquademy on Saturdays, and now look where they are. Having moved from our ‘Learn to Play’ program which feeds local clubs, they both joined Kingston Royals. After lots of hard work, commitment and dedication, they have been named in the squad which will represent the South East of England. The girls will get the opportunity to challenge themselves against the very best in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
Go girls, we are very proud of you both

We love this…..well done Amelia and keep up the good work!
We are always so proud to hear from ex Aquademy Sports swimmers, and to have been a part of their journey.
”Dear Steve. Is there a bigger smile than the first medals you ever win? Last weekend Amelia went to her first gala for Leatherhead and came away with 2 bronze medals in the 50 breast and 100 free. She also competed well in 50 fly, 50 free and 100 breast and most importantly LOVED every minute of it.”

Ex Aquademy Sports ‘Learn to Play’ program providing a future for Water Polo
Pictured here is the U14s Kingston Royals Water Polo team who competed in the Winter London League tournament playing teams from all over London and the South East. All but 2 of this team are ex Aquademy superstars who graduated from our ‘Learn to Play’ program and are now enjoying furthering their playing careers at KRWP. Also pictured (centre back row) is William M who is one of our Aquademy Sports helpers and ex Water Polo superstars. William stepped in at the last minute to coach the team on the day.
”This is a wonderful achievement! We have been proudly working with Aquademy Sports as our feeder program now for some years now. Having so many players in this team coming through their ‘LTP’ program is testament to the wonderful work their teachers and coaches are doing at Aquademy. It’s been very much the same in the older U16’s age group. It’s important for children to have an opportunity to experience new sports and Aquademy certainly goes far and beyond ensuring Water Polo is on the map.”
